Maybe some of you out there are looking for a MBA school. I’m sure that you have already figured out that there is a huge number of business schools wooing for you. At least that is my experience.
So which one to choose? This question to answer is quite difficult. It depends on what you want to achieve. For me it was pretty obvious how the school must be.
- International focus
- Good reputation (accredited by the 2-3 main bodies like AACSB, AMBA, EQUIS)
- Flexible in content
- Distance learning (I have wanted to stay in good old Switzerland)
Point 2 and 4 limit the schools dramatically. So I was looking for some sources on the Internet about such business schools.
These were the sources I bumped into:
WHICH MBA from the Economist
Financial Times rankings
Some articles from a local newspaper called the Handelszeitung
MBA fairs in Zurich from TopMBA
After consulting these resources I had ruled out a lot of schools. Eventually, there were only 3 schools left.
No, it is neither the IMD nor INSEAD etc…of course they are highly reputated schools, but they are also not cheap :-).
However, the 3 remaining schools were Henley Business School at the University of Reading, Warwick Business School and the Open University in Milton Keynes/ UK. As you can see all of these schools are in the UK. All of them meet my requirements : International, Distance learning, tripple accredited, flexible.
Let’s see which one will make it :-).So…stay tuned.
